White Vs. Chrome: Which Is Better For Radiators And Heated Towel Rails?

The Towel rack is a very important bathroom hardware product in life now. At present, towel rails are mainly divided into four categories according to their materials, namely, stainless steel towel rail, chrome-plated copper towel rail, zinc alloy towel rail and alumina towel rail. However, because the bathroom environment is very humid, the towel warmer rack is prone to rust if it is not properly cleaned and maintained during daily use. In fact, in addition to ordinary towel racks, heated towel racks are also widely used items.

The commonly used materials for towel racks are mainly stainless steel and copper. Nowadays, aluminum (aluminum alloy), iron, zinc, plastic, etc. are also used. Various materials are divided into many series. In comparison, the rigidity of the stainless steel heated towel rail is better.

In fact, the so-called anti-rust towel rack mainly refers to the use of towel racks that are not easy to rust or add a coating on the surface to make the towel rack less rusty. There are mainly the following types of anti-rust towel rails on the market.

1. Chrome-plated copper towel rack

The raw material of the chrome-plated copper towel rack is brass. In order to prevent contact between copper and oxygen, a layer of metallic chromium is plated on the surface. The stability of chromium is very good, and it is wear-resistant, and it also presents a bright color, which is very beautiful. Usually, the shiny layer of car door handles is metallic chrome. After electroplating, the copper towel warmer cannot be in contact with air and will not grow patina.

2. Alumina towel rack

Pure aluminum products have a poor hardness and will turn black. However, the oxidized alumina products have greatly improved hardness and will not turn black.

3. Zinc alloy towel rack

Zinc alloy towels will not rust. But the quality is not as good as other materials, and it is easy to break.

4. Stainless steel towel rack

The stainless steel towel bar is the towel rack we use the most. Low-grade stainless steel will rust. The higher the chromium content of stainless steel is, the less likely it is to rust. 304 stainless steel contains 18% chromium, has good stability and strong corrosion resistance, and will not rust even if it is placed in a humid environment for a long time.

Aesthetically speaking, chromium may be top-notch. The chrome towel warmer achieves a radiant luster that stainless steel towel warmer simply cannot match. Chromium equipment is indeed cheaper than stainless steel equipment, because the scientific process used to produce high-quality chromium is cheaper than the electrolytic manufacturing required to produce high-quality stainless steel.

The white radiator and towel rail is the same as the chrome radiator and towel rail, except for the surface coating. In the case of adding a layer of chromium to the chrome-plated version, a layer of white enamel is added to the top of the white alternative. Regardless of the relative thermal properties of chrome and enamel, the thickness of these layers is not sufficient to have any significant effect on the heat output of the heat sink.
